UN Sustainability Goals

Our teachers adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a foundational framework to engage our students in understanding issues in our communities. An important aspect of this initiative is the formation of partnerships with people and organizations who are working on the same issues that students are exploring in class. Not only will students see what action might look like, but they will understand the connection between what they learn and local action and service, and become true protagonists for change in their own communities.

What are the Sustainable Development Goals?

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are a blueprint for how to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The Goals address the global challenges we face, including those related to equality, climate, environmental degradation, and peace and justice. Learning about them provides a healthy foundation to support our Quaker ethos and the values, practices, and approaches we engage in. Our students learn that every action taken can make our planet more sustainable and build a better future for the Earth.
