8th Grade “Art and Social Change” presentation

Art and Social Change projects are an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Middle School Art, Music and History teachers. After being assigned a work of art and corresponding piece of music, eighth graders spent over a month investigating the historical connection between the two. The project highlights how the arts can give voice to social movements or be an impetus for change. The culmination was a trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, led by the eighth grade who presented their research in the galleries to their classmates and the public.
